

Jazz could be recognized by his love of music, his friendly nature, and his incredibly cool voice and disposition. As such, he participated in many of the most important battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons throughout the 1980s. Jazz was one of the original members of Optimus Prime's crew when their ship crash-landed on Earth. In an alternate universe, Jazz would become a leading member of Earthforce, clashing with foes such as the Mayhem Attack Squad and eventually having to confront his old foe Megadeath during a mission to Cybertron's Acid Wastes. Eventually, Jazz would take part in the showdown against Unicron as part of the united Autobot-Decepticon alliance. Eventually, however, Jazz would return to life, clad in a new Pretender body it was in this form that he participated in the Matrix Quest, part of the mission to the planet VsQs where he and the other Pretenders fought the Matrixspawn.
