They can be placed onto a Slime Stage which halts their behaviors, but their despawn timer will not be halted and can despawn while on it. Tarr despawn on their own after approximately 1 in-game hour, or 1 real-time minute. Ancient Water will immediately dispatch Tarr regardless of the time of day. Being immersed in bodies of water, making contact with Water Springs, Oasis moisture barriers, and Fountains will deal half the damage of water shot from the vacpack. At night, Tarr require two shots instead of one. During the day a single splash of normal water from the vacpack is enough to dispatch a Tarr immediately. Tarr are vulnerable to Water and Ancient Water coming into contact with water will make them lose their rainbow colouring which stops them producing more Tarr when they consume slimes. Any Fruit, Veggie and Spicy Tofu that come into contact with Tarr will instantly decay.
They can consume hens and roostros, but will not produce clones. When one consumes a slime it will produce a clone of itself in the process. Tarr can inflict Fear on other slimes, and can grab slimes from a distance with a tentacle-like appendage which limits the slime's movement. They are hostile towards the player, chickens, and other slimes, and they can perform huge jumps which aids in getting to their intended target. Tarr are formed after a largo eats a plort it does not produce. The Tarr produce no plorts, only more tarr. Remember: ranching largos may be highly profitable, but one stray plort and you could wind up with a devastating tarr outbreak. The tarr will seek out slimes to consume and replicate themselves, but will also devour chickens, rot crops in their proximity, and even devour ranchers! The tarr are the single biggest threat to ranchers. One splash will stop a Tarr from spawning new Tarr, and repeated splashes will destroy it entirely.Īlternatively many ranchers recommend running away with their arms waving, and screaming. The only way to stop a tarr outside of incinerating it or throwing it into the slime sea is with fresh water.

Because of this, it can spread rapidly throughout the ranch. The tarr seek only to consume and replicate. A terrible transformation occurs that turns the slime into a sludge filled with a swirling, prismatic array of colors and a relentless appetite.

The tarr are formed when a largo eats a plort unlike the ones it produces. Largos cannot eat plorts in Casual Mode, so they do not appear. At night they gain more health and require two splashes the first will remove its rainbow coloring along with its ability to replicate, and the second splash will dispatch them. They are weak to water, and during the day a single splash is enough to dispatch them. Due to this, they can potentially spawn anywhere at any time of day, and is one of the main threats to a ranch, unless you’re in Casual Mode. The Tarr, referred to by the HUD readout as a Tarr Slime, are Largo Slimes that have eaten a plort that it does not produce, transforming it into a hostile abomination that consumes other slimes and replicates on doing so.
